Okay so WOW this morning sucks (If by now you can’t tell I’m really not a morning person). Let’s take each event 1-by-1.
I woke up late: Yes. I woke up late this morning. Who doesn’t do that? But who hasn’t done that? Exactly. Wait… gotta go get breakfast…O good grief. Listen to this, I leave the lab. And guess what!? I don’t have badge access still! Remember that temp badge from yesterday? Well it’s only active for one day. So I come to work this morning (back tracking just a little bit) and I get in two doors by following someone in. Then the next door you don’t need a badge to get in. Then I’m like in this hallway. No need for extensive detail. But I get to my lab door and I DON’T HAVE ACCESS! So now at this point I was stuck in the hallway because in order to get back to the main one, guess what… you need a badge. I think you all are starting to get the concept now of why badges suck. Anyways… a guy named Will, who works down the hallway let me in the lab (he has access). But don’t get confused. Not everybody has access everywhere because then there would be no point having badges. Because I’m a technician, I’m able to get in places other people can’t. And there are those who can get in to places I can’t (for example, I used to have access to the mail room. Not any more. Not really sure why not). Okay so back to the story. So I get in the lab and then *light bulb* HOLY CRAP! I remembered I was supposed to be on a call at 7:30 (and the time was 7:43). Now normally I wouldn’t sweat it, but this calling is for TV monitoring (remember that?) and the event was for the 2nd highest person in the company that I work for. Yes, now you see my dilemma. So I hope on the conference call. Just listen. I missed the pretest. Oh well. So it’s 7:50 and a guy on the call says “Alright it’s 7:50. Take 10 min to do whatever you want. Use the bathroom or whatever and be back and ready to go by 8:00”. So I’m thinking “Yes! Breakfast!” so (totally not thinking) I leave the lab and… anybody care to guess what happened?... I got stuck in the hallway because I can’t leave it with out access. Thankfully a lady who wasn’t supposed to be in that hallway came to use the elevator (which she shouldn’t have been) and I got out the hallway. The I’m in like what ‘s like one of the main hallways and just barely caught the next door somebody came out of. So at this point I wouldn’t need a badge any more because typically to exit, you don’t need a badge. So I get to the ground for, go to security (at this point I’ve given up the hope of eating) and nobody is there! So I’m freaking out. Skip ahead a little… follow a couple people… and back in the second hallway (the one before the hallway where the door to my lab is). And I’m spazzing at this point because it was 7:58 and remember folks I was supposed to be back at 8:00. So THANK GOODNESS I see my supervisor coming in. Skip ahead a bit… I’m back on the call right at 8:00. Skip ahead a bit more… Now we’re caught up to where I’m at right now. I’m on the call. Can’t watch the actual broadcast (because it’s only for higher up people) but yet I have to sit and wait for any problems that may occur at my site (Smithfield). So I’m sitting… and waiting… doing nothing… (8:35AM)
Well for those of you who are still reading (which I doubt anybody is [ok well maybe one person is]) I’m gonna tell you about my weekend. And just so you know, there will be totally out of chronological order. So first things first, let’s talk about how I’M TOTALLY IN A BAND AGAIN! WOOOOOO! SO SUPED! If anybody doesn’t know, I’m a bass player. My profile on the side says that. Read it :-P. I been playing on and off for over a year. I still suck. I don’t practice much. But I do have the ability (if you give me enough time) to learn to play a song just by listening to it.
Songs I’ve taught myself to play in the past
Dance Dance – Fall Out Boy (the very first one
X-Static – Foo Fighters
Alone + Easy Target – Foo Fighters
Big Me – Foo Fighters
There are a couple others but I forget. All of those are great songs. Oh yea I forgot to mention, I’m a HUGE Foo Fighters fan. Back to my music… for those of you who say those who actually know the songs I listed and say “oh those are easy songs” SCREW YOU! I learned em on my own, and even though I’ve totally forgotten how to play em all except the first one, I’m proud of myself. Okay now back to the Foo Fighters. I love their first self-titled album, Foo Fighters. I can listen to that CD from beginning to end. I can’t do that with many CDs. I have a very “odd” taste in music. I grew up in what could sort of be considered the “ghetto”. Well O was born in Los Angeles, California. Been in Rhode Island for, ummm, too long. Anyways, I was mainly raised on Hip-Hop and a little bit of old school music.
What kind of music I listen to now:
Kanye West
Foo Fighters
Fall Out Boy
Red Hot Chili Peppers
Underoath
Lupe Fiasco
Cobra Starship
Ne-Yo
Bullet For My Valentine
Natasha Beddingfield (sp?)
System Of A Down
Hellogoodbye
Sacry Kids Scaring Kids
There are other that I don’t feel like naming. I like “screamo” music too. To some, that may be weird. I really don’t care. I love music. I listen to it a lot. And that’s just how I am. I’m still mourning the loss of my iPod *slow teardrop*. Okay I feel a writers block coming on. I’m done for now. I’m still on this stupid phone call! I haven’t been able to actually do anything for an hour. Just sit in this chair and blog… and blog… and blog. I’m not sure if blog is a word, but if I want it to be, it will. Oh btw I graduate January 23rd! AHHHH I’M SUPED! No I’m not in high school. I’m part of Year Up. Look it up. Yearup.org. I get paid to go to school. And I’m lovin it. Okay not really. I’m in my “apprenticeship phase” now (which is my job I go to on a daily basis and where I am actually currently at as I type this). I love what I do. I’m labled a “technical intern”. Bu but I’m really a desktop support technician. That’s another story for another time. But yea. Graduation is coming quickly. But at the same time it seems forever away. *sigh*. After I graduate, I’m thinking of getting a part time job. Well actually, literally right after I graduate… You know what? No. I’ll save my post-graduation plans for another blog, This one has gone wayyyyyyy too long. If anybody has read ALLLLLLLL of this, you are either 1. Really bored or 2. Actually interested in me and what goes on in my head. If it’s the first, I’m glad I could provide some sort escape from the boredom that currently holds you captive. If it’s the second reason, wow you are aweome!
Anyways… that’s whats goin on in the world (of me).
